Allen David McKay
Sadly we announce the passing of our beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Allen David McKay of
Ponoka who passed away at the age of 73 after a lengthy illness, at the Red Deer
Regional Hospital on August 24, 2011.
Allen was born in Kimberley, BC on September 20, 1937 to Henry and
Florence McKay. He is survived by his loving wife, Nell and her
family, daughters Desiree (Rob) and Daphne, son Dana as well as
brother-in-law Rick, granddaughter Renee (Henry) and great grandsons Corbin and Neo.
He is also survived by his children, daughter Cyndi (Lawrence),
sons David (Heather), Eric (Mary), granddaughters Sara and Anji.
Brothers Gerry (Jane), Robbie (Bev), Brian (Jan) his sister
Debbie (Bruce) as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.
During the five years Al lived in Ponoka he became involved with
the community and served as Chairman of the Ponoka Jubilee
Library, President of the Seniors Bowling League and member of
the Ponoka Seniors Drop In Centre.
In following with Allen’s wishes cremation has taken place and no
funeral will be held.

community service very dear to his heart, the Ponoka Jubilee
