Alma Schierman
1926 - 2009
Alma Schierman was born in the Bonnie Brae District to Holdine and Rudolph Winter on March 1, 1926 and passed away in Red Deer, Alberta on July 10, 2009 at the age of 83 years. Alma was the 12th of 15 children. She married Norman Schierman in 1946. The raised their family and farmed in the Manfred School District until 1973. She is survived by her children and their families: Doug & Elaine, Jerry & Val, Al & Carol, and Jane; 3 grandchildren: Ann & Dave, Sandra & Lee and Tyler; 4 great-grandchildren: Brenden, Kaden, Jerryd and Kody; 3 sisters: Martha Woodside, Minnie Buss and Ruby Gialet; her brother Ed Winter; 3 sisters-in-law: Rita Schultz, Shirley Winter and Freida Schierman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Funeral Service was held at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Larry Soveran officiating. Interment followed in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or to a charity of your choice.
