Annabelle Jones passed away peacefully on January 24, 2009 at the age of 84 years. She was born on January 12, 1925 in Saskatchewan to Ethel and Dave Thomas. She enlisted in the Army at the age of 18 and following the war she met and married Robert John Jones of Ponoka. They were blessed with 2 sons, Robert and John. They resided for most of her years on an acreage north of Ponoka. Anna spent many of her years working as a housekeeper at the Alberta Hospital until she retired. She is lovingly remembered by her sons Robert and John (Colleen); grandsons Brett, Kale, Cole and Levi; great-grandson Owen; sister-in-law Audrey Thomas of Edmonton; and brother-in-law Elwyn Jones of Calgary. She was predeceased by an infant son, her husband Robert and all of her siblings. A Funeral Service was held on Friday, January 30th at 2:30 p.m. at the Ponoka Funeral Home. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Royal Canadian Legion or any charity of your choice.
