1925-2020 ~ The family suffered a great loss when Arvon Humphrey Pritchard peacefully passed away on September 12, 2020 at 95 years. He was born in the Climax District County of Ponoka, the first son of Hugh Hughes Pritchard and Annie (Evans) Pritchard.
He spent his life farming and truck driving while residing in the Gwynne, Ponoka and Wetaskiwin areas. He hauled gravel, lumber, logs, gas, culverts, drilling rigs, heavy equipment, a dinosaur statue for Len's Parkland, livestock, round bales, snow and tires. He also operated heavy equipment.
During retirement, he enjoyed his Ford truck and fifth wheel holiday trailer. The trips included Saskatchewan, Cardston, Montana, Nevada, California, Oregon, Kelowna and annually to Radium Hot Springs. Another highlight was visiting the homeland, Wales in 1980.
He is predeceased by his parents, 2 sisters, Catherine Hull and Gwyneth Pritchard; 3 brothers, Robert, Evion and Emyr and many brothers and sisters in-law, his grandson Trevor Deckert, great-grandson Trey Hennig.
Arvon is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Rosina (Schwenk) Pritchard and daughters, Judy (Douglas) Deckert and Linda Pritchard Hughes. He is also survived by Judy's daughter, Trixie (Todd) Hennig and great-grandchildren, Austin, Kaylie and Dawson; Linda's daughter, Carey (Michael) Tetz; great-grandchildren, Chantelle, Devon (Julia) and Alexander; great-great-grandchildren, Gracelyn, Madilyn, Lily, Emerson, Alora, Andrea; Linda's son, Christopher (Tegan) Keil and great-grandchildren, Felicity, Torran, Lachlan and Corbin; Linda's son, Curtis (Janice) Keil and great-grandchildren, Seth, Jade, Cody and Lucas; sister, Gwen Plested and sisters-in-law, Marlene and Joy Pritchard along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
You live in our hearts - never forgotten.
A service with immediate family was followed by interment at Wetaskiwin Memorial Cemetery.
