Audrey Ella Amanda Sinclair (nee Osterland) a resident of Sun Pointe Rutland, B.C. since 2007, and previously of Lakeshore Place from 1992 to 2007, passed away peacefully Sunday January 18 2009 at the age of 102 ½ years. Her niece Susan King, devoted care-giver and long-time friend Elsie Robertson were with her. She is predeceased by her husband Alex in 1977, her 3 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by 2 nieces, 3 nephews and their 18 decedents. Audrey had a colorful and varied life leaving a treasure trove of amazing memories. Beginning in the 1920’s Audrey taught in Alberta in one-room schools with grades 1 to 8. She either walked or rode horseback to school. Later she worked in Fort St. John as secretary to the engineering boss during the entire building of the Alaska Highway. After retiring as a legal secretary she and Alex travelled extensively throughout the world. Also she was a gifted writer. Thank you so much to the staff on the Ellison ward of Sun Pointe who were so wonderful to Audrey. Special thanks also to Elsie Robertson who cared so lovingly for Audrey for the past 10 years. There will be no service at Audrey’s request. She will be interred in Wetaskiwin in the family plot.
