In loving memory ~

Barry was born in New Westminster, B.C., and grew up in Haney, B.C. (now Maple Ridge). He married Lynora Scott in Ponoka on December 19, 1964. They returned to Haney to run the family mink ranch and to begin a family. In 1970 Barry and his family moved to Ponoka. He worked in many jobs over the years: Oilfield, house construction, small engine repair, John Deer sales and repair, and lastly his own propeller repair business.

He enjoyed many activities throughout his life: motorcycle trips, fishing, hunting, travelling to and from Washington State, family gatherings/reunions, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Barry peacefully passed away at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre at the age of 79 years. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Lyn; three children: Tammy (Keith) Stoklosa, Kelly Christensen, and Reid (Bobbie-Jo) Christensen; five grandchildren: Kellyn Christensen, Blade Christensen, Jaylen (Ryan Rutherford) Christensen, McKenna (Cole Nelson) Christensen, and Sienna Stoklosa; and two great-grandchildren: Emma and Peyton Rutherford. He will also be remembered by his brother and sisters-in-law Marion Campbell, Vivian and George McCaughey, Everyn Scott, Ed and Irene Scott, Gwen and Dave Andrews, Linda Scott; and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

He was predeceased by his brother Macy; parents Marin and Mae Christensen; father and mother-in-law Francis and Phoebe Scott; brother and sisters-in-law: Jim Scott, Georgina Scott, Leon and Sharon Scott, and Jack and Nell Scott.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Ponoka Funeral Home on Friday, November 24, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. The interment will take place at the Zion Christian Fellowship Church Cemetery.

Memorial Donations in Barry's name are gratefully accepted to the Zion Christian Fellowship Church Building Fund, the Ponoka and District Health Foundation, the Ponoka Wheelchair Van Society, or any charity of your choice.
