Carl was born in farming country west of Bashaw, Alberta to Isa Calahan Delamarter and Merl Delamarter. He was the third child in the family, preceded by Raymond and Alma, and followed by Stanley. He was born in close proximity to the home he lived in for most of his life. He went to school at Ellice District School and then high school at Alix and Red Deer College, Alberta.
In 1953 he married Joyce Henkel from Bashaw, Alberta. Carl and Joyce bought the farm from his parents when they moved and farmed that land for the next 50 years until they retired and moved to Ponoka, Alberta. Joyce passed away earlier this year on January 31st. Carl was predeceased by his parents and his brothers.
Carl was a man of faith and good character. He was a member of the Ellice Free Methodist Church for many years, a good father, husband, friend and neighbor. He loved making friends wherever he went and he "let his light shine" encouraging and supporting others.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children Dwayne Delamarter, Cindy Frudd (Wayne), Debbie Babcock (Kevin), Sheila Sande (Edwin) and Dwight Delamarter (Elsa); and his grandchildren Janelle Frudd Bower, Julie Frudd Glass, Joel Babcock, Justin Babcock, Jeremy Babcock, Jordan Sande, Mitchel Sande, Allison Soosay, Essie Soosay, Kelsey Delamarter, and JR Delamarter. He has 12 great grandchildren who will also miss him as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings, a private Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 4 pm at the Ponoka Funeral Home. A live-stream broadcast will be available at service time and can be viewed by visiting Carl's obituary page at womboldfuneralhomes.com
The recording will remain for 90 days should you not be able to attend virtually at service time.
