Clifford Stanley Fenske

June 8, 1928 - December 10, 2010


Clifford passed away on December 10, 2010 at the age of 82 years after an extended stay in the Long-Term Care unit of the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre. He was a devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather and Great- Grandfather. Clifford leaves to mourn his loving wife of 57 years, Florence, two sons and one daughter and their families, also three brothers and their families, sister’s-in-law, brother’s-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents predeceased Clifford. He was the eldest son of Reinhold and Hulda, and grew up in a farming community at Hobbema. After completing his schooling in Wetaskiwin, he married Florence Walcheske in 1953, and began his own family. His interests included baseball, hockey, playing pool, fishing, photography, and Clifford enjoyed working with his hands, building, welding, and farming. In 1954, he began his own dairy and worked hard for many years. For a time he was the telephone lineman for AGT, became a private pilot and member of the Ponoka Flying Club owning his own plane. Clifford enjoyed traveling, working with the computer and video editing. His travels included Hawaii, Arizona, and Alaska, which he captured on film. He was a member of The United Church, also the Good Sams Club and spent many days with his wife at his side. A funeral service will be held Friday, December the 17th at 2:00 pm at the Ponoka United Church, to celebrate Clifford’s life. Donations may be made to The Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre Long Term Care or the charity of one’s choice.
