Constance Louise Christina Marie Shanks, age 82, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2019 with her girls by her side. She was born March 01, 1937 in Usona on the family farm. She was the second oldest of seven children (Ed Kramer, Donna Wattie, Keith Kramer, Ron Kramer, Ted Kramer and Patricia Kramer) born to August and Marie Kramer.
She married David James (Jim) Shanks in January, 1962 and raised five daughters: Darlene Shanks, Beverly (Ed) Wilson, Brenda (Chris) Nichols, Sandra (Miles) Pyret and Debra (Brad) Kroeker. Connie had 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Connie devoted her life to raising her children; she was an excellent cook, baker and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, canning, flowers and bird watching. In 1977 the family moved from Edmonton to the family farm west of Crestomere, so she could take care of her aging dad, where she cooked and cleaned for him until his passing.
She enjoyed when the grandchildren and great grandchildren would come and visit her. She was always interested in their lives and what they were doing.
She was predeceased by her parents August and Marie Kramer, her brothers Ed and Keith, her former husband Jim and daughter Darlene.
There will be no funeral service, a private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
