July 25, 1927 - April 4, 2022
In loving memory ~
His birth name was Donald but everyone called him Hank or Grandpa Hank.
Hank was born in Drinkwater, Saskatchewan on July 25, 1927 and passed away on April 4, 2022 at the age of 94. Hank and his family moved to Ponoka in 1939 to a farm in the Elkhorn District.
He met the love of his life Myrtle Bengston and they were married in 1951. Hank will always be known for his gentle nature and friendly spirit. He loved his family and friends and would do anything to help people out.
He loved a good time and was always up for a social gathering - it didn't matter the occasion. Even when he couldn't be out and about he would always ask about everyone else and how they were doing. He lived life to the fullest and didn't miss a beat. His mind was sharp even though his body grew weak in the last few months and God decided it was time to take him home to meet Myrtle again.
He is survived by his sons Don (Sonja) and Doug (Charlene); daughter-in-law Patrice (Ron); grandchildren Tyler, Savanna (Brad), Brenna, Zane, and Zarek; great-granddaughters Emilia and Parker; as well as many nieces and nephews and amazing friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at his family's campground in early summer.
Thank you for the tremendous care and support to all of the nurses and staff at the Ponoka General Hospital and Long Term Care. For the kindness and compassion you shared for Hank, we are forever grateful. This small town has given our family so much support we are overwhelmed with your love and kindness in this time of deep loss. Thank you from the whole Fessler Family.
