Douglas Clarence Rose

Douglas Clarence Rose was born on October 14, 1926 and passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2009. His passion was farming - from his early years until the present. He “hung in there” for at least 70 years. He married Jean Goodwin on June 28, 1949 and they came very close to celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary! Surviving are his loving wife Jean and his six children: Bruce & Janet (Tofsrud), Connie Flaade, Dwayne and Therisé (Pahud), Steve & Genny (Vogel), Margaret & Kim (Kroening) and Dallas & Cliff (LeSergent); 11 grandchildren: Serena Rose, Nicole Latimer (Michael), Rachel Rose-Edmonson (Sean), Sarah Scott (Cody), Stephanie Rose, Shelley Rose, Mark Kroening, Carmen Kroening, Kimberly Kroening, Michael Beale and Travis Beale; 3 great-grandchildren: Jack and Nicholas Latimer and Rebecca Scott; his brother Gordon (Eveline) and his sister Henrietta (Glyn) Humphreys. He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Esther, sister Dorothy Berg, son-in-law Barney “Ole” Flaade and nephews Rick and Darin Berg. Services were held at the Ponoka UnitedChurch on Saturday, May 9th at 2:00 p.m. and the Interment will be held at the Ferrybank Cemetery at a later date. If so desired donations may be made to the Alberta Lung Association.
