Edith Johanna Kerr (Nee Morse)
July 3, 1918 – May 8, 2011
It is with great sadness the we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother at the Northcott Care Centre, Ponoka on May 8, 2011 at the age of 92 years. Edith was formally of Edmonton. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Barbara (Harry) Lagroix of Ponoka; granddaughters: Robin (Mike) McLean and Penny (Fritz) Skjonsberg,; great-grandchildren: Kurt and Cory McLean and Brenna and Tyler Skjonsberg; her sister Fran Bennett of Kelowna, B.C.; brothers Bob (Sheila) Morse of Elnora and Joe (Ruth) Morse of Edmonton; sister-in-law Kathy Day of Nanaimo, B.C. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives of her late husband from Scotland and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1984, her parents Olga and Nigel Morse, sisters Margaret Poffenroth and her husband Bill and Agnes Robertson and her husband Bill; her brothers Wally Morse and his wife Kay and Ted Morse; and her brother-in-law Bert Bennett. A Celebration of Edith’s life will be held at the Ponoka Funeral Home on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a luncheon at the Ponoka United Church. Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Edmonton on Monday, May 16. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Alberta SPCA because of Edith’s love for animals or to a charity of your choice.
