Edith Evelyn McGarvey
On December 24, 2008 Mrs. Edith Evelyn McGarvey of Ponoka passed away at the age of 96 years. She is survived by her children Jim McGarvey (Rita) of Edmonton, Marlene Stanchfield of Lacombe, Dorothy Nabozniak (Russ) of Calgary and Verna Anderson (Mel) of Hinton; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her sisters Phyllis Assmussen and Jesse Bronjeest; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Vern; son-in-law Ross; and 8 brothers. A Funeral Service was held at the Ponoka Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Rimoka Lodge Piano Fund, the Church of the Open Bible or the Ponoka Senior’s Drop-In Centre.
