March 19, 1931 - February 11, 2019
Elmer Lawrence Hagemann passed away peacefully in his sleep at 87 years of age after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease.

Elmer was raised on the family farm west of Ponoka. He established his own farm with wife Joyce beginning 1954, 5 miles south of Ponoka. He was very progressive and built the farm to farrow/finish hog operation and cow calf. In later years as his health faded he enjoyed the grain farming with his son Ross.

Family was very important to Elmer. Also, the local Seafield Community and many friends enjoyed his company at card parties, dances and shivories. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

On December 22, 2014 Elmer and Joyce left the farm to live in town as he was confined to a wheelchair. He moved to Northcott Long Term Care October 19, 2017. He was well liked by the staff there and they took very good care of him until his passing.

Elmer was predeceased by sons Gary Martin and John Miles, parents Fred Hagemann and Hilda (Paulson), siblings Bernard (June), Norman (Shirley), Evelyn Cash (Arnold) and Ron. Survived by sister Joyce Kittle (Bob) of Quesnel BC and Sister in law Helen Hagemann.

Dearly missed by wife Joyce of 66 years, daughter Laura Bluck (Ken), grandson Cameron Lawrence Bluck (Stephanie) and great granddaughter Hadley Joyce, son Ross Kendall Hagemann (Jenefer), granddaughter Elsie Jen and Jodje.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Ponoka United Church Friday, February 22 at 2:00. Refreshments to follow.
