Em Evans
On June 10, 2011 Mr. John Emrys Evans of Ponoka passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 86 years. Em will be missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Sybil; his children Brent, Lynette (Kevin) Pfeifer and Doug (Patty); grandchildren Matthew, Melissa, Makayla, Riley and Sam; siblings Harry, Jos, Fred (Marion) and Vic (Margaret) all of Wales; brothers-in-law Reg of Wales, Ernie (Joy) of Red Deer and Dick (Elaine) of Ponoka; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Em was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Maggie Evans; brothers Edwin, Stan and Hywel; sister Gwen; sisters-in-law Joyce, Joan, Val and Ruby; parents-in-law Alf and Gladys Groom; and nephew Ron Groom. A Funeral Service will be held at the Ponoka United Church on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Ruth Lumax officiating.
