It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Emil Rausch on April 11, 2023, in Ponoka at the age of 95 years surrounded by his loving family.
Emil was born on September 13, 1927, in Fishburn (near Pincher Creek), Alberta. He was the third eldest of 12 children. He was raised on a farm near Falun.
Emil will be lovingly remembered by his children Janie (Henry) Hollman, Dwayne (Donna) Rausch, Allan (Charlaine) Rausch, Darlene Maas, and Leanne (Todd) Reed. Emil will be dearly missed by all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren Mark (Novelyn) Hollman (Hudson, Nico); Amy Hollman; Tim Hollman (Jeff); Jason Rausch (Valerie); Mallory Rausch (Keegan); Jesse (Emma) Rausch; Jayden (Jillayne) Rausch; Dawn (Mike) Williams (Emma, Lucas, Cora); Nicole Maas (Dave) (Ben, Jack, Logan); Diana (Ryan) Chandler (Madyson, Carter, Jake); Ashley Maas (Chris); Paul Maas; Shealyn (Justin) Ronnie (Arlo, Beck, Hayes); Kelsie Reed (John). Emil is survived by his siblings Erma Gartner, Alfred (Doreen) Rausch, and Walter (Lea) Rausch, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Emil was predeceased by his son-in-law Peter Maas; parents August and Katharina Rausch; siblings and in-laws Frieda (Walter) Pohl, Otto (Frieda) Rausch, Ella (Ken) Gascon, Jack Gartner, Martha Ackerman, Fredrick Rausch, Hilda (Cliff) Woitt, Christine Gronvall, and Lawrence Rausch.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Emil's life will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Stagecoach Saloon, Ponoka Stampede Grounds followed by a luncheon. An Interment Service will follow at Ponoka Forest Home Cemetery.
