Ethel Thompson
Departed this life on June 9, 2010 at the age of 82 years is Ethel Thompson. She was born August 7, 1927 at Bashaw to her parents Gustave Riske and Mary (nee Schickerowski). She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church (Schultz District). She was united in marriage at St. Peter’s on December 26, 1945 to Clarence Norman Thompson of Claresholm, living in Vernon, BC, Lethbridge and moving to Ponoka in 1953 where she lived until her passing. She leaves to mourn her passing her son Wayne and his wife Glenna of Morningside, grandson Christophor (Nikki) and great-grandchildren Evan, Gabriel and Nathaniel, and granddaughter Tanya; her son Blair and his wife Marselle of Ponoka and grandsons Nils and Kai; her daughter-in-law Colleen of Calgary and grandchildren Kent (Lauren), Jordan and Adam; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Clarence in 1986 and her son Mark in 2010.

A Funeral Service was held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ponoka on Monday, June 14th at 2:00 p.m. with the Interment Service following at Forest HomeCemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to Canadian Lutheran World Relief.
