Evelyn Blanche Hoybak

1916 - 2008

Blanche was born on Rosedale farm in the Mecca Glen area east of Ponoka, Alberta on December 29, 1916 and passed away on August 14, 2008 at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre at the age of 91 years. Blanche married Grant Hoybak on December 16,1941 and they farmed at Mecca Glen until 1986 when they retired to Ponoka. After Grant passed away in 1994, Blanche moved into Reid Manor where she lived until her passing. She leaves to mourn her passing son David (Barbara) Hoybak of Ponoka, daughter Doris (Ed) Overbo of Duhamel, and son Carl (Shirley) Hoybak of Hastings Lake; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers Ralph (Eileen) Paulsen of Missisauga, Ontario, and Don (Ann) Pauslon of Enderby, British Columbia; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Blanche was predeceased by her parents, husband Grant Hoybak, sister Kathleen Vowels, and brothers Ted and Frank Paulsen. A Funeral Service will be held at the Ponoka Funeral Home on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Asker Cemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre Long Term Care Unit or to a charity of your choice.
