Fran Lamey passed away peacefully on February 23, 2024 with her family by her side.
Fran was born in Provost, Alberta on January 22, 1936. She moved to Ponoka with her parents in 1945. Fran left school in grade 7 to help care for her younger siblings.
Fran married Harold Lamey in May 1956, and started their family. Fran returned to school in 1969/1970 to complete grades 8 to 12, and then entered the R.N. Program at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. She graduated in 1974 and started working at the Centennial Centre.
Fran was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed camping, scrap booking, belly dancing, and meditation.
Fran is survived by her two sons David (Ronda) and Darcy (Debbie); her grandchildren Ashley, Justin, and Brianne; and her brother Vern Bruns. She was predeceased by her husband Harold Lamey; mother Clara Chogi and father Fred Bruns; and siblings Cyril, Bill, Wes, and Vivian.
There will not be a service as per Fran's request.
