Frieda Sauter

Frieda Sauter was born January 14, 1932 in Medicine Hat, Alberta and passed away on July 20, 2022 in Ponoka, Alberta. She was the oldest daughter of Henry and Hilda Lehr. Frieda has two sisters, Phyllis and Ruth.
Frieda was raised on a farm south of Irvine, east of Medicine Hat. She married Wallace Sauter on December 11, 1948. They were blessed with two daughters, Gloria and Gail. They raised their family on a farm south of Irvine and lived there for thirty-one years before retiring to Medicine Hat in 1980 and eventually moving to Ponoka in 1997.
Frieda was known for her kind, gentle and loving personality. She had a heart of gold. She was blessed with many God given talents including sewing, photography and painting. She loved singing in the choir and working with children as a Sunday school teacher. Frieda, along with her husband, were so happy to be able to spend a great deal of time camping and travelling to many countries in the world.
Frieda was predeceased by her husband Wallace in 2012 and her son-in-law Albert Billey in 2006. She leaves to mourn her daughters; Gloria Billey (Don Wacowich) of Ponoka, Gail (Bob) Boschee of Calgary; five grandchildren, Quinton Billey, Quadelle (Glen) Rose, Jolene (Kelly) Wiens, Kevin (Nicole) Boschee, Michelle (Curt) Janzen; plus ten great-grandchildren, Joshua Rose, Emerson Rose, Zachary Rose, Hananiah Wiens, Emmanuel Wiens, Yeshua Wiens, Sepiday Wiens, Lincon Janzen, Easton Janzen and Delaney Janzen; two sisters, Phyllis (Norman) Schneider of Medicine Hat, Alberta and Ruth (Marvin) Rath of Medicine Hat, Alberta. Frieda will also be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews as well as other family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ponoka on Tuesday, July 26 at 1:00 p.m. The Interment Service will follow at the Forest Home Cemetery
