In loving memory ~

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Garry Farwell, who passed away peacefully at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre on May 17, 2025, at the age of 79 years, with his family at his side.

Garry was born on May 28, 1945 and grew up on a farm near Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. After high school, Garry became a commercial printer and married Judy (Gosselin) in 1969. In 1971 they moved to Three Hills, Alberta, where he owned Select Printing for 17 years. While living there, Garry and Judy welcomed their two children, David (1981) and Sara (1986). In 1988 the family moved to Ponoka where Garry opened Photography by Garry Farwell. Throughout his working life, Garry held various jobs including 13 years as an Educational Rehabilitation Therapist for Wolf Creek School Division, from which he retired in 2010.

Garry was predeceased by his parents Herb and Minnie Farwell; his sister-in-law Adelle Gosselin; and his son David.

Garry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Judy; his daughter Sara Bal (David) of Calgary and their three children; David's three children; and one great-grandchild. He will also sadly be missed by two brothers, two sisters, and many other relatives.

A Funeral Mass was held on Monday, May 26 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, followed by an Interment Service at the Forest Home Cemetery in Ponoka.

The family deeply appreciates the support and kindness shown during this time. In Garry's memory, memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the St. Augustine Catholic Church Building Fund or the Alberta Lung Association.
