George Heintz
On April 10, 2010 Mr. George Frederick Heintz of Ponoka passed away at the age of 90 years. George was born in Salador, Saskatchewan on February 22, 1920. He farmed in Major, Saskatchewan before moving to a farm 15 miles east of Ponoka in 1949. George sold the farm in 1980 to Lorna and Gordon Fillinger and bought a new house in Ponoka where he resided until going to the hospital. George is survived by his wife of 68 years, Clara; his son Ron (Shirley) of Ponoka; grandson Kirby of Red Deer; Kirby’s mom Rosalyn of Red Deer; and sister-in-law Gladys of Chilliwack, British Columbia. He was predeceased by his sisters Lillian (George) Anderson and Olga (Ozzie) Larsen, brother Art and grandson Darin Heintz. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ponoka Funeral Home.
