George Vande Bunte
George ““Gerrit Jan”” Vande Bunte, born January 26th, 1925 in Nunspeet, The Netherlands, passed away March 23rd, 2011 at the age of 86 years. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and six sisters. George is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Tena ““Trijntje”” and five children: Ron Henry, Doreen (Ed) Prestayko, Gary (Chris) Vande Bunte, Catherine (Garry) McLeod, Robert (Fara) Vande Bunte; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister in The Netherlands; and many extended family in Canada and The Netherlands. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so on Monday, March 28th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Ponoka Funeral Home, 5115-50th Avenue. A Funeral Service will be held at the Ponoka First Baptist Church, 5109-57th Avenue, on Monday, March 28th at 2:00 p.m.. A Family Graveside Service will be held at the Forest Home Cemetery.
