Gertrude Sophia Abelson
Gertrude was born on January 17, 1921 in Plymouth, England to parents Elizabeth and Richard Warren and passed away on February 13, 2011 in Ponoka, Alberta at the age of 90 years. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Christine Kawamura (Jerry), her sons David Abelson (Joyce), Daryl Abelson (Karen), Gerald Abelson; her 11 grandchildren and her 13 great-grandchildren. Gertrude was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Austin Abelson and her 4 siblings. A celebration of Gertrude’s life was be held on Saturday, February 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Andrews United Church, Lacombe. Memorial donations in memory of Gertrude are gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or any charity of the donor’s choice.
