On August 2nd, 2021, Gilda Maureen (Modro) Riske passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 84.
Gilda was born on April 18th, 1937 in Meeting Lake, Saskatchewan to Emil and Emily Modro. She met Walter Riske and they were married on July 7th, 1955. They had three children: Darwin, Shelley and Kevin.
Gilda was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1980, her companion Clifford Boman in 2012, and a grandson Brandin in 1993. She is survived by her son Darwin Riske (Susan) and grandchildren Bryan and Kayla; her daughter Shelley Baier (Keith), granddaughter Colleen Watson (Corey) and great-grandchildren Kalie and Kain, granddaughter Christine Slaymaker (Rylie) and great-grandchildren Birkley, Charlee and Reese; her son Kevin Riske (Holly), grandson Justin Riske (Cara) and great-grandchildren Jace, Caleb and Kacie, granddaughter Janelle Dux (Steven) and great-grandchildren Zachary, Carter and Brody; her sister Edelgart Ulmer (Edwin); as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Gilda's life was held at the Ponoka Funeral Home on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 11:00 am. A Memorial Reception will be served in the Anglican Church Hall following the Funeral Service. The Interment will take place at St. Peter's Cemetery following the reception.
