Reinhold “Ginger” Frank

On September 12, 2011 Mr. Reinhold “Ginger” Frank of Ponoka, formerly of Rimbey, passed away at the age of 91 years. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years Elsie; son Ken (Susan) of Rimbey and grandson Ty; daughter Joyce FitzGerald (Doug) of Cayley; daughter Debbie Reid (Dave) of Ponoka and granddaughter Lindsey (Troy); son Gary (Charlene) of Ponoka and grandchildren Leah, Megan and Ryan; sister-in-law Helen Frank of Ponoka; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Gottfred & Elizabeth Frank; and siblings Godfried, Henry, Hilbert, Sam, Molly, Mary, Bertha and Lydia. Dad (Ginger) had many interests. He was a lifetime member of the Rimbey Historical Society and honorary member of the Ponoka Stampede. He enjoyed baseball, hockey, puzzles, fishing, playing cards (Smear), guitar, harmonica, and woodworking - creating unique pieces that family members treasure. He was active in the Rimbey Legion for many years. Dad had a great love for horses, especially his team, Shorty and Nellie. He had many friends, outlived most, but continued to make new ones. Dad’s greatest passion and joy was his family - he was so proud of each one. He was a fighter; he was tough; he was tender; he was loved; he will be forever missed. A Funeral Service to celebrate his life will be held at the Ponoka Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2011 with Pastor Norm Dibben officiating. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to any charity of your choice. To express condolences to Ginger’s family, please visit www.womboldfuneralhomes.com.
