August 5, 1925 – October 10, 2008
Gisele Rivard Saunders passed away peacefully on Friday October 10, 2008, with her children by her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Joan (Tom) of Belleville Ontario, William (Gina) of Harrowsmith Ontario, and Mary (Colin) of Ponoka, Alberta, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, as well as 2 sisters and 3 brothers. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years William Sr. her son Robert in 2001, 1 sister and 3 brothers.
A prayer service will be held in her honor on Wednesday October 15th at 7:00 P.M. at the Ponoka Funeral Home. A Mass celebrating her life will be held at the St. Augustine Catholic Church on Thursday October 16th, at 10:00 A.M.
The family would like to extend a “thank you” to all of those who prayed for her recovery during her illness of the past few months. Special thanks to the very gentle people at Guardian Ambulance, to Dr. Dutoit for her kind manner, Mom’s special friends Jimmy Rawji, Carol Koleyak, Shirley Kohlman, John and Dara Bigalow for their many visits and prayers, to Leo Belanger for his daily visit and strong support and to Marlon Wombold for treating our mother like a good friend.
Gisele is now happy to be at “home” and back in the arms of “her boys”
