Glen "Butch" Stephanson passed away on February 21, 2018 in Palliative Care at the Ponoka Hospital at the age of 84 years.

Butch was born in Canuck, SK to Magnus and Maria Stephanson, the 8th of 14 children. He started young in a career of painting, which took him and his paintbrush all over Alberta, eventually retiring after 29 years of employment with Centennial Centre (AHP), Ponoka.

After his retirement at age 60, he utilized his handyman skills and spent the next 20 years turning his family's homes into their dream homes.

Butch is survived by his wife of 25 years, Margaret; special dog Ginger; 9 children: Greg (Diane) Stephanson, Lori Mohl, Tom (Kathy) Stephanson, Margaret (Robert) Church, Alan Stephanson, Kathy (Laurence) Grigg, Kim Gowda, Jeff (Denise) Colyn, Gary (Karen) Colyn; 20 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; 4 sisters: Sylvia, Gail, Sharon, Karen; his 1st wife Marie Campbell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his 2nd wife June Lux.

A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ponoka Legion Hall (3911 AB-2A, Ponoka).
