Mr. Gordon Walcheske of Pincher Creek, beloved husband of Mrs. Bonnie Walcheske of Pincher Creek, passed away at the Pincher Creek Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the age of 63 years.

Gordon was born in Wetaskiwin on April 22, 1945 grew up on the farm and attended school in Ponoka, Alberta. He started his career in 1965 with Revelstoke Lumber, managing several locations throughout Alberta during his 35 year career, until his retirement to the Pincher Hills in 2000, to start his own business. He met Bonnie Bell and married her in January of 1969, and shortly after they started their family of 3 children. Gordon enjoyed woodworking, ice fishing, camping, bird hunting,, singing and a special passion for having fun with family and friends. He always took great pride and gave full commitment to his staff and customers during his years with Revelstoke Lumber. While dealing with Hutterite colonies, he developed many lifelong friendships. Gordon gave all of himself to his family, especially his grandchildren, being his greatest pride and joy.

He will be missed by everyone he knew.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife Bonnie, and three children Jackie (Dennis) Sokowin, Jay (Teena) Walcheske and Joleen (Rick) Semach; six grandchildren Jillian, Amber, Riley, Raiden, Talon and Ronin; as well as several nieces and nephews and their families.

Gordon was predeceased by his mother, father and one brother.

A Funeral Service was held at 2:00 pm, on Monday, October 6, 2008, at

PARK MEADOWS BAPTIST CHURCH, 2011 - 15 Ave., N., Lethbridge, AB,

with Pastor Barry Seifert officiating.
