Grace married Ransford Hurst in 1930 when she was fifteen and they made their home at Rosetown, Saskatchewan. In 1963, Ransford passed away. She spent many years working as a cook in hospitals, hotels, cafes and also cooked for the Department of Highways. Pies and bran muffins became her specialty. When she turned eighty nine, the Clearview Lodge became the place she warmly called home. Her daily “Gramma hugs” were anticipated by those who worked at the lodge and loved her.
