Helen Zerbe

Helen Zerbe passed away peacefully on October 28, 2016 in Lacombe at the age of 80 years. Helen was born on January 26, 1936 in Calmar. At a young age she moved to Grande Prairie and resided on the family farm until she was married to Ed Zerbe in January of 1953. Helen and Ed moved to Ponoka raising their four children. Helen enjoyed gardening, ice fishing, cooking, and traveling. She is survived by her four children: son Glen (Gail) Zerbe, daughter Karen (Doug) Robinson, daughter Debbie (Gary) Hetze, and daughter Loretta (Bob) Kraft; her nine grandchildren: Tyler (Jayme) Zerbe, Nicole (Brad) Berg, Tricia (Allan) Avison, Matt (Amanda) Robinson, Megan Hetze, Lucas (Sharelle) Hetze, Rebecca Hetze (Riley Ravnsborg), Sarah (Chad) Olson, and Hannah Kraft; her ten great-grandchildren: Tate and Nola Zerbe, Garner and Gillian Berg, Marie Robinson, Deseray Lysohirka, Daiten and Trey Towers, Theo Olson, and Brock Klimosko; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Helen was predeceased by her parents Fred (1971) and Anna (2009) Dobko and an older brother Walter Dobko (1958). A Funeral Service will be held at the Ponoka Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to S.T.A.R.S..
