Ivy Spelrem



Ivy Spelrem passed away peacefully at the Ponoka Hospital & Care Centre on September 8, 2011. She was born in the Nelson Lake District to Emrys and Lily Williams. Ivy worked at the Ponoka Creamery where she met and married Bernie Spelrem. They moved from Ponoka to Keoma and the to Bashaw where they made their home for over 50 years before retiring to Ponoka 7 years ago. Ivy will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Allan Spelrem (Debbie) of High Level; her daughters Darlene Oslanski (Jack) of Okotoks, Denise Schrauwen of Red Deer and Trish Swain (Duncan) of Edmonton; three grandsons, six granddaughters and six great-grandchildren; brother Sid and sisters Hazel Erickson, Kaye McKelvey and Megan McGarvey. She was predeceased by her husband Bernie in June 2010, her son-in-law Art in 2008 and her younger brother George in 2008. A Funeral Service will be held at the Ponoka Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2011 with the Interment Service following at the Forest Home Cemetery.
