James Joseph Bolch


Jim Bolch was born March 18, 1929 in Camrose, Alberta. He passed away May 10, 2010 at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre. Jim will be remembered by his loving wife Doreen; his sister Barbara Zimmer of Bashaw; nephews Lyle (Maxine) Zimmer, Grant (Val) Zimmer, Curtis Zimmer and Robert Zimmer; his niece Karen (Brian) Williams; five great-nephews, one great-niece, two great-great-nephews and two great-great-nieces. Jim was predeceased by his father Preston in 1947; his mother Margaret in 1955; sisters Eunice in 1972, Eileen in 1994 and Mary in 2003; brothers-in-law Edward Zimmer and Louis Turgeon in 2009. Jim went to school at Water Glen. He loved his horses and cattle and had a great time teasing his sister Barb and her dog. He farmed the home place in the Water Glen District until 1963 when he moved to the George District. He spent many years in the Wetaskiwin area working for the Balhorn family on their feedlot. Jim and Doreen moved to Ponoka in 2000. They loved to go for drives in the country and would often end up at his nephew’s place. He had many interesting stories to tell and always left with a smile on his face. Jim would always ask how other members of the family were doing. Jim had a tremendous love for his dog Tuffy. A Graveside Service will be held at the Malmo Mission Covenant Church Cemetery on Wednesday, May 19th at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Len Eichler officiating.
