Janet Mary Morgan de Bruyn , beloved wife of John de Bruyn, passed away in Canmore, AB, February 26, 2019. Janet was born in Teepee Creek, AB July 7, 1954. Janet was predeceased by her first husband, George Daniel Dedio and is survived by her husband John de Bruyn of 21 years and her brothers and sisters Johnny, Bobby, Diane, Karen, David and Fran.
Janet will be remembered for her tremendous caring, giving and nurturing spirit, her many acts of kindness, her creativity, perseverance and radiant smile. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be missed so much. Janet raised her son, Trevor, and daughters, Laura and Lisa, to be people of character and instilled in her grandkids the values of strength, adventure, service to others, and love without condition. She was a mentor, a teacher, an inspiration, and a source of strength to those who loved her. She leaves an empty space that cannot be filled, but we take comfort in the memories we have of her warm laugh, her soft touch, and her wise words. Janet truly was a caring wife, an exceptional mother, and incomparable grandmother.
Janet is also survived by her children and their spouses and partners, Laura and Lloyd Hollihan, Lisa Meehan and Darren Wellingtan, Trevor and Kathryn Morgan; and John's children, Corinna and Dave King and Stephen and Raylene de Bruyn; granddaughters, Courtney Hollihan, Angela and Caitlin Meehan, Georgia and Alexis Morgan, and grandsons, Morgan Hollihan and Joshua de Bruyn.
A Celebration of Life for Janet was held on Monday, March 4, 2019 in Canmore, AB.
In lieu of flowers, Janet encourages you to hike the High Line Trail, in Canmore, (or any other mountain path that calls to your spirit) in remembrance of her.
