Baker
Mabel Janett (Pearson) Baker passed on May 4, 2010. Her memorial service was May 8, 2010. Janett Baker was born May 14, 1924 in Calgary the second daughter of Leo and Mary Pearson. Their family was very artistic and Janett and her sister Leonora did everything together including learning to play the violin and piano. After completing high school they went to the U of A and graduated with their Bachelor of Commerce Degrees. In Calgary, Janett met and married Percy and they moved to Ponoka over 50 years ago to farm. She has been an active part of her community since. Janett will be lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Janett was predeceased by her parents, loving husband Percy Baker, sister Leonora Wilson, brother-in-law Vaughan Jones. Janett’s family would like to especially thank Legacy Community for your continuing support. Memorial Donations may be made to the Ponoka Wheelchair Van Society, Ponoka Baptist Church or a charity of your choice. A Funeral Service was held at the First Baptist Church, Ponoka Saturday May 8, 2010.
