October 8, 1941 - April 17, 2019
With sadness, we announce the passing of Jim Allan Viggo Madsen, who passed away peacefully on April 17, 2019 after enduring a steady battle with health. Jim was born on October 8, 1941 in Standard, Alberta.
Jim had several great adventures in his lifetime, he was well known for his love of classic cars and his mechanical expertise and let's not forget his pool hall, which gave family and friends several cherished memories. In more recent years, Jim spent his time in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia working alongside his eldest son, Shawn. He was also blessed with a visit from his eldest daughter, Tanya who travelled from Scotland to visit him.
Even though Jim was use to a small town environment, he appreciated the unique and adventurous experiences that the city had to offer. While he enjoyed life in many places, a piece of his heart always remained back in Ponoka, Alberta, where his three beautiful children Jamie, Jenna, and Miranda as well as their mother Veronica and two grandchildren Anika and Mackenzie lived. Jim cherished his family and was blessed to be able to spend time with them before his passing.
He is survived by his brothers George and Jerry Madsen; children Shawn (Nicole), Tanya Madsen, Jamie, Jenna (Kristian) and Miranda Schultz; mothers of his children Moe Ward and Veronica Schultz. Along with three beautiful grandchildren Noah, Anika and Mackenzie. Jim is predeceased by his parents Clara and Viggo Madsen.
Jim Madsen, your family will always remember you. You were a strong man and we know you are at peace now. As we always said, see you later alligator.
The family would like to thank everyone for all their thoughts and prayers.
