On June 29, 2020 Mr. Joe Sejdl of Ponoka passed away at the Northcott Care Centre at the age of 97 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his seven children: Diane Draeger (Ted), Brian Sejdl, Leola Mantai, Jolene Seely (Regan), Joane Sande, Terry Sejdl, and Kevin Sejdl (Meagan); twenty grandchildren: Donna, Angela (Kane), Jennifer (Jim), Lindsey (Matt), Kim, Bradley (Marsha), Craig (Angela), Marcie (Ross), Alycia, Matthew, Tyler (Nicole), Melodie, Spencer, Melissa (Stephan), Christina (Vince), Shannon, Michael (Jessica), Glendale, Dustin, and Kyle; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law Bev Dean; as well as many nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Carol on November 11, 2019; his parents Josef and Anna Sejdl; his daughter Donna Gail; son-in-law Ken Mantai; grandson Dennis Clark; great-grandson Trenton Mantai; sister and brother-in-law Helen Evelyn and Albert Gartner; and his brother-in-law Myron Dean.
Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings, a private Funeral Service is being held at the Ponoka Funeral Home. Joe will be laid to rest together with Carol in the family plot at Forest Home Cemetery in Ponoka. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
