John “Ian” Patrick
John Patrick past away peacefully at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre on December 3rd, 2009 after a two and a half year battle with cancer. John was born on the 19th of September, 1934 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He and his family moved to England in 1949 where he finished school and completed his two years national service from 1952-54. He was married to Ann in 1957 and they emigrated to Canada (Calgary, Alberta) in 1961. John and Ann moved to central Alberta in 1974 where they raised their family. In 1979 John dedicated his life to Jesus and touched many souls with his passion for the Lord. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife Ann; sons Jim of Calgary and Robin and his wife Kathy of Ponoka; grandchildren Kegan and Kane; his brother James (Sonia) of Calgary; sisters Carole (David) Whitehall of Adelaide, Australia and Nancy (Allen) Hart of England; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents James and Nancy Patrick. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 9th at 2:00 p.m. at TrinityLutheran Church with Reverend David Schumacher officiating. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Alberta Cancer Foundation (Cross Cancer Institute).
