Joseph Samuel Portas, of Ponoka, Alberta, passed away on August 20, 2019, at the age of 70.
Joe was a lifelong Oil Patch worker, an avid motorcyclist, and had a love of travel. He was an amazing "Jack" of all trades: able to build, modify and fix anything he put his heart into. Friends close to him were known to say "if it don't go, call Joe."
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret; his brother John and his sister Denise; his 3 children: Robert (Cathwyn); Michael (Kari); and Darlene (Ian); along with his 5 granddaughters: Jessica, Meagan, Elizabeth, Katherine, and Victoria. He was predeceased by his parents John and Mary, as well as his brothers: Arnold, Leonard, Robert, Richard, and Larry.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Bunting, and the team at Ponoka General Hospital. At his request, there will be no funeral. However, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
