On December 25, 2008 Mr. Joseph Wolansky of Ponoka passed away at the age of 78 years. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his family: Bob & Georgie Grierson (Jason); Vera & Alfred Docken (Nicki & Vinnie and Wade & Cheryl); the children of the late Hazel Grierson: Katrina & Jamil, Shauna & Brent and Trent & Elizabeth; Larry & Karen Wolansky (Erin & Jeff and Brad); Ron Wolansky (Jennifer and Ryan); Brenda & Leonard Rufiange (Blake & Lindsey and Odie; Bonnie & Mike Fines (Joshua and Jacob); his great-grandchildren: Grandpa’s special shopping buddies Janaya and Keyana; Jesse, Patrick, Sammy, Felicity, Shania, Haley, Tiara, Decklan, Corbin and Ashlynn; sister Jean & Leonard Rosenke; brother Jim & Lyn Wolanski; and special friends Marion, Shelley and Maryanne & their families. He was predeceased by his wife Vivian, daughter Hazel, parents John & Mary Wolanski, brother Tom and sister Olga. A Funeral Service was held at the Ponoka Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 31 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Beatrix Schirner officiating. The Interment Service followed at Forest Home Cemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society.
