June 25, 1938 - August 15, 2018
June passed away peacefully at Rimbey Continuing Care on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the age of 80 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill, in 2005. June was born in Rimbey, AB on June 25, 1938. After attending school in Bluffton, she had a long and successful career in the Food Services Industry. Later, she also worked for H&R Block.
She loved to travel with her husband, and managed to see both the East and West Coasts of Canada along with Florida and the Northwest Territories. June enjoyed many social activities - dancing in particular - and loved listening to country music, playing Yahtzee, and watching hockey. With a great sense of humor and dry wit, June got the most out of life. She loved nature and living at the Ranch, being with friends & family, and spending time with her beloved pets. Over the years, those pets included birds, dogs, a pot-bellied pig, and her cherished cats. Although initially reluctant to leave the Ranch, she found great joy in living at Rimbey Continuing Care and being a part of the local Seniors Society. Friends and family meant a lot to June, and she was much-loved by all.
She will be very lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors across Canada. She will also be very fondly remembered by her husband, Bill's, relatives in Alberta and Ontario.
As per June's wishes, there will be no service. If friends and family so desire, donations can be made in June's name to the local SPCA or the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.wilsonsfuneralchapel.ca.
