January 20, 1932 - May 24, 2023
In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness that the family of Kenneth David Kjenner announces his passing on May 24, 2023 at the age of 91 years.
Ken was born January 20,1932 at Frog Lake, Alberta. He was the third of five children born to Fritz and Nellie Kjenner. Ken moved to Ponoka and lived with his Uncle and Aunt when his mother died in 1939. Ken lived in the Asker district for his entire life. Ken married Connie Eastwood October 30,1959 and together they raised their family on the farm. Ken and Connie were very involved in the community, volunteering or serving on the board of the Calumet Curling Club, the Asker Hall, 4-H Beef Club, Mecca Glen School, and St. Mary's Anglican Church. Ken took great pride in the family farm and his herd of Limousin cattle. They sold purebred bulls all over the province.
Ken is survived by his son Keith (Karen) and grandchildren Tiffany Kjenner (Matt), Kiara Moshansky (Shane), Shania Goelema (Mark), Tawni Clemmer (Pierce), and Tasha Kjenner and great-grandchildren Kennedy Moshansky, and Hudson, Deacon, and Tucker Goelema; his daughter Arlene Simmers (Darryle) and grandchildren Derek, Kat, and Janelle Simmers; and his daughter Sharon Haines (Bob) and grandchildren Rachael Van Haaren (Bart), Allie, and Megan Bolton. Ken was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Connie Kjenner.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Ken's life will be held at the Ponoka Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
