Lawrence Arnold Pugh was born at Ponoka, Alberta on July 2, 1943 to Arnold and Ivy Pugh, the first of 7 children.
Lawrence's early years were dedicated to 4-H and showing cattle. His many loves included roping and watching rodeos. Lawrence, over the past years, has enjoyed watching the Cowboy Channel, watching rodeos in Canada and the U.S.
Lawrence has been a great supporter of the Ponoka Riding and Roping Association which he competed in for many years and then enjoyed watching his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and then great-great-nieces in the last years.
Lawrence is survived by his siblings Ellen Johnson, Lorna Norn, Dennis (Joyce Vold) Pugh, Judy (Dennis) Dick, Gail (Glen) Zerbe and Wally (Glenda) Pugh; nieces and nephews Tammy (Kevin) Henkelman, Lane (Daisy) Johnson, Shane (Nicole) Norn, Stephen (Tanya) Pugh, Karen (Allan) Knight, James Pugh, Angie (Colin) Mueller, Tyler (Jayme) Zerbe, Nicole (Brad) Berg, Billie-Jo (Brad) Poitras, Trygve (Jolyn) Pugh, Garrett (Liz) Dick, Stacy-Lyn (Dave) Rieder, great-nieces and great-nephews Kaylee-Jo (Kenton) Fawcett, Levi (MacKenzie Rae) Henkelman, Zane (Aisha) Johnson, Reid Johnson, Boyd Johnson, Jordan Wilson, Brandon Lushman, Magan Wilson, Wyatt, Denver and Emett Norn, Cole, Trey and Evan Mueller, Tegan and Rhett Poitras, Garner and Gillian Berg, Keely and Tryp Pugh, Tate and Nola Zerbe, Jovi and Jett Dick, Wyatt and Dylan Rieder; and great-great nieces Ivy and Kate Fawcett.
Lawrence was predeceased by his parents Arnold and Ivy Pugh; sister-in-law Gwen Pugh; brothers-in-law Garry Johnson and Lyle Norn; nephew Chad Johnson; and great-niece Reagan Knight.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Lawrence's life will be held at the Ponoka Funeral Home on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Reception to follow.
