September 7, 1948 - November 28, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lochlan (Locky) Fairbairn Adams at the age of 70.

Locky was born on September 7, 1948 in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan to Mildred and Pete Adams and grew up in a loving family with his older brother Peter and younger sister LaRae. In 1954, the family moved to Czar, Alberta which became Locky's home for much of his life.

Locky attended school in Czar until ninth grade and achieved his High School Diploma in Hughenden in 1966. He then attended the University of Alberta in Edmonton where he met Myrna Hager and they were married on April 20, 1967. Soon after, they moved back to Czar to start a mixed farming operation and were proud to welcome two children to their family, Brett Conrad on September 11, 1969 and Tara Lee on December 30, 1971.

Locky and Myrna were divorced in 1981 and then he moved to Ponoka, Alberta with his partner Linda in 1984. Over the following years he lived in a number of places including Red Deer, Edmonton, Airdrie, Olds and finally Okotoks. As he moved away from farming in the late 80's, he got involved in computer work which was a passion for the rest of his life.

Locky was always a great parent and grandfather and an extremely hard worker who was always proud of his farming roots. Besides spending time with his family, there was nothing Locky enjoyed more than playing and watching sports. Besides being an avid hockey fan, he was a competitive curler with many trophies and a very accomplished baseball player who played on the Czar Royals team that won the Western Canadian Championship in 1976.

Locky battled his illnesses with tremendous bravery right to the end and his spirit was admired by all. He will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Brett (Laurie), Tara (Jim), Mick (Melanie) and Randee; grandchildren, Tate (Elizabeth), Grace, Alyssa and Kayla; brother Peter (Christine); sister LaRae (Will) and his nieces and nephews Kim (Justin), Tammy (John), Lenore, Marnie (Matt), Trent (Tammy) and Julia (Daniel); other family members and countless friends and community members.

He was predeceased by his loving parents, Mildred and Pete as well as numerous aunts and uncles and other close relatives.

A Celebration of life will be held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel 200 Woodgate Road, Okotoks on Saturday December 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
