Marie Alice Johnson was born in Sexsmith, Alberta, February 11, 1919 and passed away in the GOAL Unit of the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre on January 4, 2018 at the wonderful age of 98 years.
She will be remembered by her son Maurice (Sylvia), their daughters Lisa (Doug), Kendall (Tim), and Lindsey (Pedro), and great-grandchildren Sloane, Beck, Grayson, Andy, Marcus, and Rielle; her daughter Joyce (George) Mackenzie, their sons Corey (Katherine) and Robbi (Lynn), and great-grandchildren Ania, Adam, Kiera, Caylee, and Phelan; and her daughter-in-law Ellen Johnson, her son Lane (Daisy), and great-grandchildren Zane, Reid, and Boyd.
She is also survived by one brother Allan (Marie) Peterson, one very special nephew Dale (Barb) Johnston, and her best friend Violet Hoar.
Marie was predeceased by her husband Oliver; son Garry; grandson Chad; as well as seven brothers and two sisters.
A Celebration of Marie's Life will be held on Sunday, January 21st at 1:30 p.m. at the Ponoka Drop-In Centre. Memorial donations may be made to the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre Auxiliary or any charity of your choice.
