Merle McMillen was born on August 30, 1910 in Ponoka and passed away on November 30, 2008 in Bentley at the age of 98 years. Merle spent the last number of years in the Rimoka Lodge and later in the Nursing Home in Breton. He has spent the last year and a half in the Bentley Care Centre where he passed away. He leaves to mourn three sons Jack of Ponoka, Bruce of Lacombe and Jerry of Ponoka; one daughter Joan of Kelowna; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Merle’s family greatly appreciate the care and consideration given to him while in the Rimoka Lodge, Alberta Hospital Ponoka, Breton Nursing Home and the Bentley Care Centre. We sincerely appreciate and commend the staff of these places and thank them very much. We also wish to thank the Ponoka Funeral Home, the minister Leo Ganson, and the Royal Canadian Legion for the excellent service offered. A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, December 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at the Ponoka Funeral Home. Memorial donations are going to the Ponoka Wheelchair Van Society.
