After his retirement Michael and Irene moved to their favourite ocean side vacation spot in Victoria, where they found many new friends, good times, rides in the Mustang, and he really enjoyed his 22 years of volunteer service as a host at the Royal B.C. He was predeceased by an infant son Phillip, and Irene, his little English bride of 40 years on November 12, 1981. They were married in Surrey, England and after Michael completed his service in the British Army Medical Corp during W.W.2 they immigrated to Canada and arrived in Ponoka in 1948. A family celebration of the life of Michael Rainone Sr. will be held at a later date in Victoria, B.C. Memorial donations in his memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
