Midge Wettstein
August 24, 1928 - February 19, 2011
Our wonderful caring and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and sister went to join her husband, Walter, her brother, Chappy, and her sisters, Lilly and Frances, on February 19th 2011, at the Rosefield Care Center in Innisfail AB. Despite struggling with dementia for many years, Midge never stopped loving and caring for everyone in her family and on the last day of her life she knew she would be leaving us soon. However, God came to her to help her have one more quality visit with those who came to see her, and share her love with them. Her family, son Verne Wettstein, daughters Marie (Rick) Welch, Linda (Bill )Pound, Dorothy (Chris) Hebb, and Wendy Fleming (friend Gord), and sisters Irene Letcher, Vera Ranson , Rose Ebbinghoff , and brother Laddie, as well as grandchildren Shaun, Colin (Lindsay), Matthew (Stephanie), Jodi (Mike), Ryan, and great grandchild Beckett, will all miss her, but we are relieved that her suffering is over.
A memorial service will be held at the Sparwood Fellowship Baptist Church on Saturday, March 5th, and her ashes will be returned to the Elk Valley, where Midge spent most of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society in Midge's name.
