February 5, 1928 - September 5, 2018
Mildred was born in the area of Stony Pain, Alberta on February 5, 1928 to her parents Jacob and Emma Litzenberger.

August and Mildred met at the Hillcrest store, just outside of Onoway. It took a few years, but eventually the two of them were married on November 3, 1949. Their marriage was held in the Stony Plain Lutheran Church and was their first recorded wedding in their new building. The weather was beautiful that day, a balmy 21 degrees centigrade and Mildred's grandpa drove her and her bridesmaids to the wedding in his Prefect, a tiny little English-made roadster. August and Mildred started their married life on the farm at Alberta Beach.

They were there for twelve years until they moved to Usona and bought a homestead, where in Mildred's words, "we camped for thirty years." In the spring of 1995, August and Mildred retired to Ponoka.

Mildred was a quiet woman who loved baking and cooking, along with her cats and dogs, especially her "Goldie".

Mildred will be lovingly remembered by her friends and family. She died peacefully on September 5, 2018 and was predeceased by her husband August; parents Jacob and Emma; and by her brothers Arthur, Gordon and Jack.

A Funeral Service was held at the Ponoka Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018 with Pastor Tim Graff officiating. The Interment Service followed at the Forest Home Cemetery.
