In loving memory ~
Norma "Billie" Taylor of Ponoka, Alberta, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2023.
Billie leaves behind her children, Teresa (Don) Kern, Casey Taylor, and Gjoa (John Bilodeau) Taylor, fabulous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as loving brothers and sisters.
Billie began her journey in June of 1937 in Hughenden, Alberta. She grew up in a house full of siblings and she loved the Davie clan.
She married Vern in 1954 and they lived on a farm in Hughenden, Alberta, before moving to Edmonton, with a stint in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, before settling down on their cattle ranch west of Ponoka in 1972.
An accomplished self-taught decorator with an artistic eye for design and the fortitude to carry out the job from start to finish. Her talent and enthusiasm touched the lives of many. Billie was an independent woman known to be tough, but fair. She was as comfortable on 1st base on the ball diamond, as she was on the curling rink, on horseback or on the dance floor.
A kind soul, always looking out to help those in need. She volunteered at the local church, brought home used clothing, and returned them a week later looking brand new. She gave back to the community she loved, and volunteered at the mobile mammogram clinic, flu clinics, as well as the Ponoka Stampede Association for many years.
In lieu of flowers, please do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone in need - Billie would like that.
